Program Number: 1
Time: 6 p.m. (New York); January 20/21 at 12 a.m. (Paris); January 21 at 7 a.m. (Hong Kong)
Session Title: The Role of Emotional Intelligence in Building Coaching Presence and Authenticity
Presenter(s): Dr. Ben Palmer and Richard Harmer
CCEU: 0.75 Core Competencies / 0.15 Business Development / 0.15 Personal Development / 0.45 Other Tools and Skills

Today’s rapidly changing business world is placing greater emphasis on the right-brained skill of Emotional Intelligence (EI). Today's leaders need to be more conceptual, innovative, creative and better at synthesizing large amounts of information. These skills are dependent on Emotional Intelligence and are enhanced from its development.

The role of coaching in developing intra- and inter-personal skills of leaders is paramount.  But, what are the foundational skills a coach requires to have coaching present with a client? How does the coach remain fully conscious and connected with a client?  How does the coach foster a safe and supportive coaching environment?  EI is a skill critical to the coach's capacity to establish a trusting, safe and intimate coaching conversation. Genos are experts in developing a coach's presence and authenticity using EI.

This session will explore:

1) Why Emotional Intelligence is important to the coaching relationship

2) How the seven skills of Emotional Intelligence relate to a coach’s presence and authenticity

3) How to remain present within the coaching conversation, and

4) Working with your client to co-create a proactive and supportive coaching relationship

As a result of attending this session participants will have:

1) Analyzed the reasons why Emotional Intelligence is critical to effective coaching

2) Learned how the EI skill of Emotional Self-Awareness underpins a coach’s capacity to remain present within a coaching conversation

3) Identified how the coach establishes trust and intimacy with a client through the EI skill of effective Emotional Expression, and

4) Developed a personal action plan for enhancing one’s own presence and self-awareness as a coach.

BIO: Ben is the founder and CEO of Genos, a company that designs and distributes employee coaching and learning/development programs. In his time at Genos, he has trained hundreds of coaches and facilitators within Australia in the use of Emotional Intelligence to deliver greater organizational performance.  Richard is a PhD candidate, a registered psychologist and a Full Member of the Australian Psychological Society.  Like Ben, Richard has trained hundreds of coaches and facilitators and has a unique style to bringing Emotional Intelligence to life in order to deliver sustained inter-personal growth.

The ICF Virtual Education call that will be held on January 20 represents but the first installment in a comprehensive, five-part series on Emotional Intelligence.  Each of these sessions will be delivered by Dr. Ben Palmer and Richard Harmer and will address a different ICF Core Competency.  The remaining call schedule for the series will be as follows:

Session Title: The Art of Enrollment - How to Turn More Conversations into Clients
Presenter: Keith Rosen, MCC
CCEU: 0.53 Core Competencies / 0.75 Business Development / 0.22 Personal Development

"People don’t want to be sold. They want to be enrolled."

How effective are you at converting conversations into clients? Do you find yourself struggling to find more clients? What do you do to be unique and make an impact in the very first conversation you have with a prospect? Masterful coaches and speakers leave not only a lasting impression - they also create one.

It's no secret that most coaches, speakers and non-selling professionals don't like to sell. The income of most coaches reflects that. As such, they unknowingly use ineffective selling strategies rather than develop healthy, winning relationships with clients. Relying on price as a competitive differentiator dilutes your true value offering.

Coaching and training is not something you "pitch and sell." The next evolution in how you engage clients is through the Art of Enrollment. What has been initially perceived as an inherent ability in certain leaders, coaches and top achievers is now a documented, step by step process that allows anyone, especially non-selling professionals, to convert more prospects into clients. You can do so in a natural, conversational way that honors your personal strengths, talents, integrity, values and style of communicating.

Keith Rosen has taken his twenty years of coaching and million dollar enrollment process that catapulted his business to one of the most successful coaching practices in the country and is now sharing his system with you in his latest program, The Art of Enrollment; a proven process to build a highly profitable, rewarding and sustainable business.  Discover how to:

• Conduct an initial coaching conversation that will allow you to convert more people into high paying clients in less than 60 minutes.
• Ask better questions and stay away from the ones that actually sabotage your enrollment efforts.
• Build enough value where you can easily double - if not triple your current fees so that you can start making a healthy six – seven figure salary.
• Quickly defuse and eliminate any concerns that prevent people from hiring you.
• Avoid the toxic clients.
• Eliminate costly assumptions and toxic thinking that actually prevents you from building your practice.

BIO: Keith Rosen is the President of Profit Builders. A best selling author and award winning columnist, Keith has written several books including, Coaching Salespeople into Sales Champions. Inc. magazine and Fast Company named Keith one of the five most influential executive coaches in the country. He's been featured in Entrepreneur, Inc., Fortune, Hoover's, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Fox Business News.
